This is the cover of “Journal“, the magazine of Staatsoper Hamburg (Hamburg’s opera house) . It reproduces an external view of my 2007 installation Fruits from an ocean nearby (James Cohan Gallery). The same image was chosen for the world première of thenew production of Richard Wagner’s Das Rheingold directed by Claus Guth and conducted by Simon Young in 2008.

I’ve just been to Arcosanti where I met Paolo Soleri, who is the sweetest, wisest and
most intriguing character. For some reason he made me think of another architect
whose projects were never completed or even built at all. I’m referring to the futurist
genius Antonio Sant’Elia.

FLASHBACKS OF A FOOL

A film inspired by one of my early drawings is being released next month.
The title is Flashbacks of a fool, it stars Daniel Craig and Claire Forlani and is directed by my dear friend music video and documentary maestro Baillie Walsh. I’m so looking forward to watching it!
